Week 4 -
Storyboarding and anarchy
During this week we looked at storyboarding the gameplay loops for our essential experience that we came up with last week.
I developed my more in-depth loop of a level that has an load of tasks to do and only a certain amount of time to do so by adding the fact that you never see your characters face due to camera angles that don't show a lot (shown in the research page)

Furthermore I looked at having first person so you never see the characters face even when playing unless the camera angles suggest this.

I decided to not show the characters face/full body in any one shot because after doing some research, I found that some people experience anxiety from lack of information or knowledge so I thought would be fitting to include the mystery of not knowing what the character looks like.
This loop that i am storyboarding this week is going to be the first gameplay loop as it will be the introduction of the game.

in the first frame you can see that i went for a close -in look of the house to show the time period but without giving too much of the details of the house away.

this frame also creates the setting as it shows the house in a decollate con try side far from anything else
In this Frame the player character has just woken up and the camera crabs along from the left of the screen to the right of the screen and only shows a closeup of the bottom of the bed and the characters feet.

this continues the lack of knowledge about the player and the setting as the camera angles help portray the sense of anxiety some get when stressing about the lack of information/knowledge they have on a subject.
In the next part of the loop the camera lurks over the characters shoulder once again portraying anxiety to the player from the lack of information.
This scene reveals the intense amount of tasks that the character has to complete in a certain amount of time

The camera in this scene would lurk over the shoulder and then cut to the long piece of paper hitting the floor to further portray the amount of tasks.
This one shows what the gameplay in this loop would look like for the player they will be given the amount of tasks and a timer in the corner to do in all in.

the camera is first person to once again address that lack of knowledge.
This frame is an example of the different camera angles during the task cinematics.

the player is using a air pump to start the fire and the camera is focussed on their foot doing the actions as for one there's no point in showing all the body when all the movement is in the leg and it once again portrays the lack of knowledge.
This frame is the last frame in the loop and its the bad ending to the loop where the player has failed to do all the tasks in time.

The camera focusses on just the players eyes that show that they are shocked without revealing too much about them yet again portraying the lack of information.
During this week we also looked in the philosophy's/political opinion of Anarchy Vs Authoritarnism.

Anarchy - The rejection of enforced involuntary power structures and political hierarches as being unessesary and undesirable for the functioning of society.

Authoritarnism - The belief that is is nessercery to maintain ruling power with a strong force which imposes its political will at the expense of personal liberty of the citizens for the purpose of maintaining proper law and order.
